Leadership

Delta Chi is committed to developing its members into ethical leaders. If we are to become such, we believe we must learn from those who are leaders now. To fulfill that belief we have created the Sir Edward Coke Leadership Society: a society designed to expose members in an informal setting to today’s leaders in business, public service, government, and religion. Recent guests include Chris Nelson, Public Utility Commissioner, Mike Huether, Mayor of Sioux Falls, Victoria Blatchford, President of Wells Fargo Bank, and Dr. James Morgan, President of Daktronics Inc.. The organization’s success in forging men into strong, ethical leaders is evident across the University and across our history. Our ranks include several past and current Student Association Presidents, Vice Presidents, and senators, Briggs Scholars, a Truman Scholar, Madrigal Soloists, College Ambassadors, Theater Leads, a Brookings City Councilor, and Iraqi War Vetrans.

Personal Development

What is going to confirm your interest in a profession and separate you from your peers? Internships are a great way to find out if a specic field is something you could see yourself doing while giving you the abilities and talents needed to perform well in the world of work. Internships are a proven way to gain relevant knowledge, skills, and experience while establishing important connections. Our members, such as Steven Iverson and Nathanial Graff had internships in Congress and U.S. Embassies. Chris Schaefer took a Biotechnology-based internship resulting in a Ph.D. Former Fraternity President Brian Baskerville had his senior history internship at Colonial Williamsburg. The fraternity, its alumni, advisors, and contacts go to extraordinary lengths to secure the best and most challenging internships for the members.

World Travel

Delta Chi believes great advantages can be derived from experiencing firsthand the lessons and teachings of another culture. Our organization is a strong proponent for international opportunities and has a long track record for members exploring the world via international experiences. From the South Pole to the Sahara Desert, and from Iguazu Falls to the Roman Coliseum, members of our fraternity have visited more than eighty countries spanning all seven continents. The value our fraternity places on such important experience is made apparent by the fact that currently, more than 75% of membership has international experience. The value gained from such travels is not relegated to just the individual who made the trek, but every member as the lessons learned are shared. Below is a map of the countries we have collectivly visited.

About Us

Our chapter of Delta Chi has four pillars: Leadership, Personal Development, World Travel, and Brotherhood. We try to pursuit these in everything that we do. Our members do it all, from riding camels to landing the perfect internship in Washington D.C.
